Fortis Insurance Associates was founded by insurance leaders who spent decades inside large firms and saw the industry from every angle. They knew clients needed deep expertise and market access, but believed those strengths should come with clear guidance, personal service, and accountability.
They built a different model: an independent, relationship-driven brokerage where clients know who is advising them, how recommendations are developed, and how costs and commissions are structured. We stay close to every client because transparency, honesty, and trust are not add-ons. They ARE the partnership.

Founder & CEO
Robin Gallagher
Robin Gallagher founded Fortis Insurance Associates after more than 25 years helping business owners navigate employee benefits, HR challenges, and corporate insurance needs. Her experience inside a large insurance firm showed her that clients deserved a more accountable, transparent, and creative approach.
Today, Robin leads Fortis Insurance Associates with a consultative mindset, developing strategies designed to produce measurable savings, stronger outcomes, and a better client experience. She also brings the company’s Mind, Body, Spirit philosophy to how she leads the team and serves clients.
Outside work, Robin enjoys hiking, boating, exploring new cultures, and finding meaningful ways to give back to the communities she encounters.

Ryan Rigby
Ryan Rigby brings more than 35 years of employee benefits experience to Fortis Insurance Associates. He founded Rigby Group Benefits and led the firm for 20 years before it became part of Gallagher. Ryan holds the Registered Health Underwriter, Registered Employee Benefits Consultant, and Registered Group Disability Specialist designations.
Based in greater Knoxville, Ryan helps businesses pursue their goals through honest guidance, deep industry knowledge, and a client-first approach. His philosophy is simple: when you exceed expectations, everyone wins.
Ryan served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1984 to 1991, including service during Desert Storm. He has served on several community boards, holds a black belt in Taekwondo, and enjoys spending time outdoors.
Account Executive
Bria Mastrogiovanni
Bria Mastrogiovanni joined Fortis Insurance Associates four years ago after a decade in the New York insurance industry. Her attention to detail keeps the team aligned, while her commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsive service helps clients feel supported and understood.
Bria brings the Mind, Body, Spirit philosophy to her work and approaches every client relationship with the care and ownership expected from a true extension of the client’s team.
Outside work, Bria is a passionate animal advocate and enjoys riding her motorcycle through the Great Smoky Mountains.
